How said person will factor in will be fun to watch. It ‘s not the only new/old face appearing here. Once the mission becomes clear, there is no turning back on direction. It is a much darker place in tone and direction.

This point comes across when “the Rogues” address recent events. The conversation peels back the layers of Wayne’s secret life. Readers watch as the emotions surface and boil. It reflects the pain of losing one of their own. In some ways, that has already happened. Snyder pens the unforgiving view of Batman in a much harsher tone. It results in a few flashback moments. Once in the close, there’s a great twist set in place. Readers will watch in shock as another change has happened that no even the Dark Knight is ready for.

Martín & Vicente step in for art duties. The innocent start of Fries’ tale begins with a two page credits image. Cowles lettering tips off the impending terror. The writing doesn’t shy away from the anarchy the move makes. A train scene details the lawlessness. It gives more impact to Batman’s need to fight back. This move also brings his friends into the mix with different results.

Seeing this new “Bat Family” at work provides some strong character moments. It plays well off the flashback sequences guided by Martha Wayne. Readers watch as she shows her defiance to back down like her son. Her calming message brings out Bruce’s inner strength when needed most. The showdown with Black Mask is brutally poetic. It mirrors the tense atmosphere Martha and Jim Gordon navigate through. In the aftermath lies a strong half page image for the future. It is quickly upended by a terrifying epilogue page. It’s a gradual build until the big move taken to secure victory. Readers watch as the gamble works and doesn’t. The outcome casts Kai onto an all too familiar landscape. Readers watch as their location carries its’ own unique story. The closing pages leave things on a solid foundation. There’s nowhere to go but up from this conclusion.

Smallman and William give the Queen a regal welcome to the chapter. The near full page image of her addressing her people elevates impressions. Shrush and Xander’s debriefing packs a sense of fraud when the details are presses. The images depict more is not being shared by all parties. In contrast, it appears Kai and his group are on the same thought concerning their task.

Their location is compromised in a bold full page spread. It’s non stop action from this point. readers ride along as the group scrambles to survive the Zynitec attack. Just when they think they’ve escaped, another full page image shows how futile their attempt was. Many tricks are pulled out to escape this conflict. The result is a new planet with unstable energy it gives off. Another full page shot oversees this new landscape. This leads to the closing images. They will strike a chord with how human they make Kai. It’s a moment of peace in a very conflict driven chapter. Readers will be wondering what’s next from this challenging series.

A declaration leads into a massive altercation. Snyder locks readers in as Batman takes the offensive. The result proves the inexperience of a young vigilante. Black Mask is written as an unhinged psychopath pulling all strings. There are no punches pulled. Violence takes over until the final act unfolds. Once here, Wayne’s best plans prove fallible. Xander sends Barnes to eliminate Kai. Their confrontation mirrors their high skill level. Once that settles, the writing throws in another swerve. It forces a change of direction. Pacing moves very fast in this portion. After some great action, Kai makes a necessary call. It does feel tipped off but with the pacing, it makes sense. Readers watch as Kai’s plan starts adding some strength to carry its’ heavy weight. it’s a solid set-up issue with many moving parts at play.

Smallman shows Kai in his element. The soldier’s perspective comes across very grizzled. Panels show Kai ready to return to action. A full page image shows his new destination. It leaves quite the impression. As he starts making moves, Kai seems to switch mannerisms into business mode. It’s subtle but is quickly interrupted when Barnes makes her play.

The full page image welcomes her into the direct conflict. There are great action images that follow. Readers watch as Xander’s move throws all plans off the deck. The art takes events up quite a few levels. It never holds back on the hellish aspects of combat. After the guns stop firing, Stallman brings a calm over the storm. The closing page sends everything onto a new path. It’s sealed with a bond forged in battle. Enemies beware.

Walta steps in for art duties on this chapter. The opening flashback pours with emotion with a young Wayne in court. The close-ups reveal the anger built by his father’s loss. Gears shift into a closer present with a Batman in action. There’s no shortage of brutality as Batman attacks. Walta’s attention to detail is big in this moment. Seeing claws and fangs appear shows the humble beginnings. The coloring keeps a grim atmosphere. This leads seeing how Bruce grows into the Bat. Readers watch as the young man takes out his pain on criminals in style.

Batman’s attack on a gun-running shipment is classic Dark Knight. Walta’s art leads the quick pace into a violent end. Martin’s use of red amplifies the conflict. It leads into more personal moments as Bruce deals with what he is becoming. Once at this stage, the Batman’s first “real” mission is gifted a strong full page image. It lends itself to cover up the real reasons behind the meeting of minds.

Kai is not one to trust. He has just been burned by Xander and Zynitec. Readers watch as a tense alliance is formed. It is not one of want, but need. Kai is in a new body he knows nothing about. Zon holds the cards into unlocking its’ true potential. Readers watch how this starts to unfold in the closing act. Xander continues to pull strings on his own agenda. Seeing who’s recruited now proves why Kai plays it smart to continue with Zon. It leads to a solid landing point which opens up another door on a growing saga.

Smallman and Beaudoin present Kai’s new body in a half panel. The emotion and rage speak loudly on this page. Zon’s assistant Alvarez makes a big entrance with a near full page shot. The art holds nothing back as she wipes out her own crew! They keep up the intensity with Kai in the closing act. The fight with the creature caps off a violent showdown. It indicates how far Kai has now come and where he is heading, ready or not.

ABSOLUTE BATMAN #3 (DC COMICS)

In an absolute world, nothing is the same. Enemies have become friends. Evil has evolved. A Dark Knight has become even more darker. The new landscape of Gotham City has pushed Bruce Wayne to new extremes. Even with these changes, there still is a need for Justice and Vengeance.

Snyder continues to push the creative envelope with this fantastic story. The dynamic change with Alfred goes up a few notches. It appears the grizzled agent is being schooled by the younger upstart. The encounter leans into the contrast in personalities. Its’ finish is vintage Batman. Few writers can walk this line quite like Snyder can.

Once in the flashback sequence, the friendship between Bruce and Selina takes center stage. It carries a familiar sense of caring as the pair tries sorting life out. Snyder delves into finding hope for Bruce through Selina’s eyes. The take on the rogues continues to be impressive. Seeing how they mesh in this new setup hits on many levels. The closing act provides a strong finish to an ever changing tale. As a reader, you can’t help but be impressed as to what is unfolding here.

Dragotta and Martin present the volital world of Gotham at full speed. The early escape from the GCPD carries a big feel to it. Pacing never falters as it pushes through to a stunning end. Cowles’ lettering drops a big exclamation point on this series of events. It provides a good balance from the flashback panels unfolding.

The innocence of Bruce and Selina comes into focus with Martin’s coloring scheme. Readers watch as the carefree attitude of Kyle takes over. Using “Zorro” as motivation, it is almost as Kyle is pushing Bruce to be Batman. Maybe this is something more hidden in the Absolute Universe? It’s quickly diverted when the rogues/friends show up. Seeing these characters in a jovial state is a fresh concept.

The art doesn’t escape the harsh reality of this new world. Back Mask’s “sparring session” hits all the key points of an MMA fight. Dragotta also slides in subtle panels to compliment the fighting. From the tap out to the dead stare, it leaves readers in horror of what happened. The only “win” persay is it makes the ending that more impactful. With a close-up image, a big shake-up went down that leaves uncertainty in its wake.

FINAL POINT: 9.6

A deal is struck that forever changes the fate of Gotham. Snyder magnificently sets the stage with his writing. Dragotta, Martin and Cowles lower the BOOM with the action while ramping up the drama. This series is making an instant impact that simply cannot be ignored.

Actors and comics is a familiar and growing relationship. In recent years, fans have seen “BRZRKR” & “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return” as success stories of this pairing. At New York Comic Con 2023, word was breaking about another project following in these footsteps. The actor involved is no stranger to the land of comic content. Fans have seen him portray Eddie Brock aka VENOM in 3 successful films.

Paired with an all-star creative team, TOM HARDY’s comic venture has been building to a fever pitch. In November 2024, the wait is finally over.

Paired with writing heavyweights like Snyder and Tieri, Hardy couldn’t walk into a better situation for an opening chapter. Kai comes across as a soldier torn between ethics. On one hand his missions have all been for expanding Zynitec’s mission of acquiring Kronium. It’s countered by the feeling of senseless death and conflict. He is clearly given many layers for fans to fully encompass his issues.

Xander (his younger partner) is sold on a thrill of conflict. The writing reflects his lust for the battle. This theme carries through the majority of the issue. Kai’s internal struggles set off a domino effect of events. None greater than the final pages. At this stage, readers watch as the struggle for what’s right overtakes one of them. This leads to a shocking close. The status quo is ever evolving and for Kai’s future, this leads to new perspectives. It’s a solid building point with many miles to progress forward.

Smallman and William spare no expense detailing the high cost of war. The opening conflict launches readers into action with a near full page spread. Once Warr is introduced, the violence is amplified to new heights. It is not one for the squeamish. His ruthless attacks are blood soaked panels with Beaudoin’s lettering adding to the intense images.

Events calm with Kai’s thought process getting orders. The flashback sequences tease his past while dodging the ever challenges of following orders. Kyra’s interactions add to a more “human” sense in the sci-fi tale. It’s short lived as the back end of the book is nothing but the dark side of war. The art team squeezes in a few shocking moments with extra details added. It leads to a full page shocking panel to end events with. Suffice to say, the art team gave fans a knockout blow before bowing out on the debut chapter.

“Arcbound” brings intense action wrapped around a growing question of humanity. The team of Snyder, Tieri and Hardy delve into a solider’s conflict with fantatsic writing. Smallman, William and Beaudoin craft brutal conflicts with human emotions. It’s a great start for a long journey ahead.

It leads into a thunderous closing sequence.

This builds off the book’s strongest points: the character changes in the supporting cast. The dynamic between Wayne and Alfred is uneasy but offers a solid exchange. It is not the surreal “card game” seen earlier in the chapter. Readers will do a few double takes as seeing Bruce hang out with his “friends” feels different but mirrors the new stat quo.

Even with changes, Snyder’s writing brings out the classic Bat overtones like no one else. It leaves a massive impression as where things lead now is wide open. The only certainty is the imaginative take wins another round in its’ growing legacy.

Dragotta and Martin pull no punches with Batman’s fighting. The altercation at the Aquarium intensifies with each panel. How Batman uses his cape continues to steal panels. Readers will be impressed with a half page image that showcases the Bat watching overhead. This gets quickly upstaged by a skyscraper becoming a warning to the city. Its a fantastic panel that reflects the new stat quo of Bruce Wayne.

In-between the action, the more subtle moments of Bruce’s life win over readers. The card game carries a more light feel (even though business is brought up). The story doesn’t take long to get back to the full throttle action. In the closing events, a full page image of an iconic mobile takes an all new twist catapulting readers into the story’s next phase.

Two issues in and the world of Bruce Wayne has never been more complex and explosive. Snyder’s writing shifts gears to bringing the detective side of business into the forefront. Dragotta and Martin leave no questions as Batman’s quest for vengeance grows with each panel. The new landscape continues to lock readers in for the long haul.

Williamson and Snyder swing BIG in this opening chapter. Splitting the book into two parts (one on heroes, the other on Darkseid’s view), readers get a vivid and bold picture of the new stat quo.

Time jumping one year after “Absolute Power”, the foundation of the new league plays into the concept of superhero evolving. Making Booster Gold the lead character is a perfect choice to usher in this portion. Gold’s legacy is a mixed one that has taken many turns. Seeing his reactions as he is optimistic for the chances given make a strong impression. As the conflict arises, the pace speeds up with each page. The resolution provides a shocking discovery. Once the close comes into focus, the writing leaves readers with a mic drop moment for what lies ahead.

It matches up perfectly to the eerie feel of the Darkseid portion. The tone dictates a new path to acquiring power. Seeing the new approach leads into dark places, not only in the DCU, but his own mind. The conflicts cause a showdown with an unlikely foe. It leads into more revelations that solidify a change in destiny.

Once that is cleared up, the story starts coming together with the other portion to create something brand new. It also creates something very darker in nature as well. The new landscape shows promise of a sinister backdrop which bodes well for Darkseid. How events leave off prove to be a fantastic mic-drop moment for fans to savor.

Sampere (Heroes) and Craig (Darkseid) are the two main artists for this chapter. Each bring a distinct style to their stories.

The heroes welcome in the promise of tomorrow with a strong two page spread. There are many cameos mixed in to showcase the high level of importance of the new initiative. This is followed up by a strong two page image putting the plan in place. Seeing Booster’s facial reaction connects the sense of hope with readers. It is quickly dashed as Darkseid hits the scene.

The near full page loudly ushers the new threat perfectly. it carries a big fight feel as the chaos begins. Its’ conclusion is gifted another two-page spread ending in a peculiar spot. This leads into the closing pages where everything readers know has drastically changed.

It is directly in line with Craig’s art for Darksied’s new beginnings. The pages are brooding with a sober overtone. Each conflict is portrayed with a blunt and unapologetic feel. This is Darksied at his best. Once he comes across his “prize”, the art locks in the moment with bright coloring . This leads to a huge one page image declaring a new shift has happened. It is a perfect homage to a legendary artist (the late George Perez).

This builds towards the opposite close. The view through other eyes works to establish a disrupt from the normal tale. Both stories end with a gorgeous Dan mora two page image that is sure to send shockwaves throughout the DC Fandom. Brace yourself for impact.

Going off a tip left by Willow Glanville’s parents, Del and the group of survivors make the trek to shelter. Following a flashback with De; narrating about Westerns, the group finds a code box and looks to enter the shelter. Once inside, it turns into more than they could imagine.

The scene feels as if the group walked onto a Hollywood set. Shelter looked as a return to normalcy. Some kids break away to have some fun. With supplies they can live off of for quite some time, things might be looking up for a change. This favors Del especially. Inside the complex, he finds a movie theater.

Inside, it has any movie he wants. There is one that is given to him by Junior. It literally makes all the difference in the world. The film is the one Del, Oliver Ozawa and Junior were making that caused all the trouble in issue #1. The conversation shifts to Junior and Del having a long-overdue talk.

From here, the group sits to watch the film. Unfortunately for them, a guest has crashed their party. It has an axe to grind. The battle takes a few twists before its conclusion. Just when one obstacle is handled, there is one piece of business left to be sewed up.

Readers watch as Del and company have become battle tested. With one obstacle down, they make a play to stop the major threat once and for all. The action picks up as the stake their claim. It literally has everything you want in a finale. Thrills, Chills and a showdown that brings everything to a thunderous close. The closing pages will leave readers with some thoughts as they exit from a truly imaginative saga.

From here, the story shifts gears into a sense of normalcy. It is a perfect break moment feeling like a calm before the storm. The closing act feels much like a movie from Del’s collection. Resiliency and hope carries the characters into their conflict. Once the smoke clears, Del makes a stance that sets a course for if and when we see this version of the 1950’s again.

Albuquerque and Maiolo construct some memorable moments for this finale. The reveal of the shelter’s inside proves for a solid break from the drama. The emotions of the teenagers shine after the drama of the outside world. Del and Junior’s conversation is filled with regret and healing. The initial threat makes a huge entrance with a near full page panel, fighting the survivors.

Once the story shifts to its’ closing act, the survivors make their stand with a strong full page shot. The action takes big swings to convey the danger. Del comes across as a confident leader during the closing arc. The panels reflect his growth and where he has leveled up to. This leads to a short final image that speaks volumes for the future of Del and his friends.

The world of Del Reeves shines in the bleak post apocalypse in its thrilling conclusion. Snyder constructs heart-stopping action with heart-warming moments with hi superb writing. Albuquerque, Maiolo and Brice mix in danger and drama with the stunning artwork. It’s a magnificent finale that cannot be missed!

The story begins with the immediate fallout of Jo losing his arm to the Shroud. The mood is reflective at how dangerous Jo walked towards being killed. Witht he shroud leaving a facial scar, Jo’s friends see him in the hospital. One friend who comes bearing gifts is Charlie.

Charlie bears the guilt of causing Jo’s injury. A metal arm lies beneath the wrapping paper. Jo is happily surprised to see it. Charlie hopes this can lead to some forgiveness. It leads to an impromptu kiss which Jo isn’t ready for. Charlie leaves before he can react.

The story shifts back to the cold reality of the new world. Jo and friends are locked away in a crystal jail. Rowan has set them up for his own devious plan.

What does Rowan have in mind with Jo and company? Readers find out there is much more that just Jo’s journey at hand. A showdown is set in motion that could change the course of everything.

The pace fires on all cylinders as the action unfolds. During the chaos, who will be left standing? With the closing pages, a new course is set for when readers head back into the abyss of the Shroud.

What a mic dropping ending. Scott and Jack Snyder drive the emotional points right through to the conclusion. Jo’s backstory connects with readers about the uncertainty of the new world. It’s a perfect set-up for their present struggle. The reveal of Rowan opens up many possibilities to where things can head next. The direction that the story leans into is an excellent build for the feverish last act.

With the climactic ending, there are many moving elements at hand. The writing manages to close in on Jo, who steals the spotlight with his actions. The fallout presents an intriguing new course of action. Once the final page hits, readers will want to dive right back as the next course will set things in a new avenue to follow along with. Amazing work on display with the finale.

Favoccia and Cogar give readers many huge images to rave about. The emotional innocence of youth is shown in the opening segments. It gives a happier timeframe before the darker times of the present. Rowan’s reveal is crafted with a full page split of panels featuring the major player involved.

This is complimented with a full page displaying the showdown of Rowan and Charon. There’s no way readers see this and not get excited for what follows. From here, the action doesn’t stop as events keep escalating to a grand finale. The fallout leaves readers for now with an image that leaves no doubt the saga is far from over.

With Rowan’s plans revealed, Jo and his friends have to find a way to survive in a thrilling arc conclusion. The fantastic writing of Scott and Jack Snyder takes readers on a rollercoaster of events. Favoccia layers the chapter with superb imagery that elevates the saga to new levels. By A Thread is a series that readers simply can’t afford to miss.

The issue begins with Oliver Ozawa reading some sci-fi magazines. The narration leads readers through the thought process of sci-fi. This also connects with Jack Ramirez. Jack is speeding away in her supped up car. Having some Nitrous Oxide could be helpful in times like this.

The story shifts back to happier times. Willow Glanville returns home. Her father (the school principle) has left the house. Willow is now home alone for a month, maybe longer. In her travels, she goes near the bookcase. She grabs a book. With a loud click, the case opens. All the while, the narration of Sci-Fi continues to grow.

The next story phase lands in their present time of 1955. Del Reeves and the remaining survivors thought they found refuge at Wilmer aka Popsicle’s radio station. Pugg Lansky is standing in his new alien body. Lansky makes an ultimatum for Glanville (his “girlfriend”) to join him in transforming. If she does, Del and the remaining survivors live. With one minute to decide, what does Willow choose?

Readers buckle in for a wild ride as Pugg closes in on Del and company. If they survive, where do they go? Once the smoke clears, major revelations come to light that the young group might not be able to handle. Think the kids have been through enough? The final page will definitely leave some jaws dropped as to what is next to come.

Snyder keeps the fast pacing forward and never looks back. The transformation of Pugg comes across menacing. It leads to where the issue takes off with some intense action moments. Willow gets the majority of the spotlight for this latest chapter. The writing breaks down her “perfectly normal” life into one surrounded by secrets. The fallout from these events catapults Del and his group into their next journey. The elements of mystery and paranoia roam free taking the story into a dangerous reality.

Albuquerque and Maiolo give Pugg a dramatic entrance with a full page image in his new form. This leads into some great action panels with Brice’s lettering adding more commotion into a frantic scenario of events. Willow’s secrets are exposed with solid black and white imagery. The reactions to the secrets weight the impact on the young people’s shoulders. It' leads into a powerful parting image that will only have readers on more edge to how Del and Company survive!

Mixing in fantasy elements to hide emotionally impactful secrets, the saga of Del Reeves continues to raise its stock. With Snyder’s excellent writing leading the way, the art from Albuquerque, Maiolo and Brice makes the sci-fi world feel like just another day with strong imagery. The series continuously rises to new heights!

The chapter begins at an earlier time of Jo and “The Shroud”. Readers watch the youthful actions of a game of “Spin The Bottle”. In a post-apocalyptic world, it’s a fleeting moment of normalcy. Jo spins and it lands on Charlie, who isn’t there.

Jo finds her contemplating her future as she’s got a chance to join the Mechanic’s guild. Jo offers words of encouragement. When Charlie slips, she falls towards a catching Jo. In between laughing about the slip, a startling revelation appears. Jo’s arm lands in some of the Shroud. With it quickly moving up Jo’s arm, Charlie makes a choice to save Jo. The cost is high as she takes an axe to his arm.

In the present time, the older group of friends have followed Rowan on this journey. Rowan is the stranger who showed up with the black diamond. With bright hope behind his selling point, the group camps out twenty miles from their location at a drive-in theatre.

With the break int he action, the conversation goes back to their pre-shroud days. Happiness is short lived as something crashes the party and its’ not happy.

Readers see the party-crasher with action unfolding. The pace picks up as the group fights to survive. he fallout sends the story into uncharted areas as a few revelations appear. The closing moments enter a new dynamic into Jo and his friends’ quest that leaves many questions for next time.

The writing keeps the focus centered on the longing of the pre-shroud days with this latest edition. The moments of “Spin The Bottle” reflect how trying to retain being normal isn’t in the cards. Jumping to present time, the group’s conversation keeps their time light-hearted until the threat shows up.

At this stage, the pace shifts gears to the threat at hand. The action picks up the issue but leads to a strong closing act. The writing spaced out Rowan’s secrets enough to give the finale a bigger feel before concluding events.

Favoccia does another fantastic job with bringing this fantasy world to life. The innocence of the kids right after the Shroud wins over readers. This pays into the striking panel of Jo losing his arm to survive. The threat at hand has very intense visuals stemming from it’ near full page panel debut.

The fallout mirrors the reaction of Rowan’s reveals. Readers instantly can sense the change of the group’s feelings. This plays into a great closing page which makes a big impact on the way out of this latest chapter.

For this entry, we have finally arrived at the conclusion of the last ride of Marshall Holt via Comixology Originals & Best Jackett Press. Since its’ debut in the second wave of Scott Snyder’s line of BJP comics, the horror-western tale has grabbed readers’ imagination and never loosened its’ grip. Now, all best are off for the final showdown of good and evil in the wild, wild west.

Marshall Holt is on the verge of retirement. He’s recruited to investigate a murder in 1891. The case leads him to the town of Canary. Holt knows this town all too well. It is the location of his most disturbing case: Hyrum Tell.

While searching the case, Holt is joined by Edison Edwards (or Ed-Ed), & Mabel Warren, daughter of Canary founder Chester Warren. The trio’s journey leads them from an abandoned cave to “The Global Geological & Divination Society 1081” or House 1081. The “Canary Evolution” theory looms heavy as they can’t escape the danger. All the while, Holt is trying to hold it together with the memories of his past begin to creep into the present.

After a monstrous figure reveals itself from the grave surroundings below, Holt leads the charge to head to the bottom of the cave and address whatever evil lies there once and for all.

The issue begins with Holt returning to his family’s home. The mood is dark and looming with an evil hiss. As Holt walks in the house, he finds his wife and baby dead as canary eggs lie on the floor.

Suddenly, Holt is back with Mabel as they prepare to descend to the bottom of the cave. Knowing time is not on their side, the pair lowers the elevator. Once they begin to head downward, Mabel notices that things are not normal.

The road to Hell is paved with dark intentions as Holt and Mabel finally land at the deep bottom. Once they walk out of the elevator, readers see the insanity they set into. Answers are revealed and more burden is put on Holt’s soul as he now finds himself in a place he never expected.

The closing act floods the pages with excitement and rising uncertainty. Can Holt save the day one last time? Readers will walk away with a few parting images before a surprising one to conclude this epic tale with.

Snyder sends Holt off into the sunset with an unforgettable issue. The challenges he has faced have not been an ordinary case. Tull’s impact on his life never strays too far from this story. Holt battles the ghosts of his past to find a possible future. Snyder focuses in on this element during the key points of this finale.

Once the big revelation appears, Snyder presents our lead with the challenge of being vigilant for the greater good, no matter the cost. The conflict is one that will not easily escape reader’s minds as they read the tale. It pushes Holt to his breaking point. Knowing what lies ahead, his actions re-assure any doubt of his nobility in the face of overwhelming odds.

The final moments move briskly to end this saga on a very strong note. The parting images will have readers talking as the “Canary Evolution” theory leaves a lasting impression for an immediate re-read for years to come.

Panosian delivers on looming horror and crushing drama art to conclude the last ride. The heart-wrenching images of Holt struggling to deal with his family’s state instantly sets a devious overtone to the story. Once the decent inside the cave begins, readers brace for the impact of Holt’s valiant efforts.

The cave is filled with brooding images of terror and anxiety. There are a run of two-page spreads that scream volumes of the breaking of Holt’s spirit right before the evil’s reveal. Panosian welcomes that element to the main story with a devilish hello via its’ body language. Showing Holt’s reaction to all of this further cements the cost he must decide to pay to end things. The conflict concludes with another fantastic double page action shot before bringing the curtain down. The mastery of horror and western styles is truly remarkable with the artistry.
